Symphony Youth Competition
The Symphony Youth Competition encourages talented, young musicians to develop their skills and musicianship by performing in a competitive setting. Area instrumentalists in grades 6 through 12 are eligible to participate. In addition to a cash prize, the first place winner receives a traveling trophy and an invitation to perform with the LSO. Cash prizes are also awarded to second and third place winners. This 2010 Symphony Youth Competition was held Saturday, April 24th at the MSU College of Music.

Young Composers Competition
Young composers between the ages of 9 and 18 are invited to submit their original, orchestral compositions to the LSO for the fifth annual Young People’s Composition Contest. The winning piece will be performed by the LSO at our Young People's Concerts.

Discounted MasterWorks tickets are available to area Band and Orchestra Directors, private lesson teachers, and their students.
