LSO Health & Safety Protocols

As you know, this season is very different than anything we have experienced before.  Since spring of 2020, Lansing Symphony has made the commitment to put the health and safety of our audience, musicians, staff, and volunteers at the forefront of our planning and performances.  We have followed the advice of experts when it comes to the best practices around preventing the spread of COVID.  Based on the current guidance, we believe it is time to update our policies for LSO audiences.

After several weeks of monitoring the community levels of COVID-19 as measured by the CDC, our community has remained in the “low” category.  Based on this positive trend, we want to adopt the most recent CDC guidelines.  The CDC currently recommends masking only in “high” COVID-19 community level areas; for all community levels, the CDC recommends staying up to date on vaccines and boosters.  LSO will continue to monitor the CDC and local guidance and adjust our policies and practices accordingly if guidelines change.

In practical terms, this update means that the LSO will no longer require event attendees to show proof of vaccination or negative test.  Masking will be optional but encouraged for vaccinated persons.  Unvaccinated attendees will be asked to mask at all times.

If for any reason, you no longer want to or can attend a concert, LSO will issue a full refund or credit if the request is made before the concert begins.  If you or someone in your group is feeling ill, experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or think you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 we ask you to stay at home.

And now for something that has not changed – our commitment to sharing an amazing musical experience with you!  Please do not hesitate to contact any member of the LSO staff with questions or concerns.  We are here to help!
