Susanne Garber

Violin

Susanne Garber is currently the Director of the Suzuki Program and Faculty at the Michigan State University Community Music School. As a performer, she has been a member of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra since 1993. Susanne has been a faculty member at the Blue Lake Suzuki Family Camp since 1994 and the Pennsylvania Suzuki Institute since 1993. Dr. Garber was the Adjunct Professor of Violin/Viola and String Education at Albion College from 1997 – 2006. She was the director of the Okemos Suzuki Workshop for 2004, 2005. Susanne has been through training in the Suzuki Violin Method through Book 8 along with numerous supplemental courses. She has taught the violin and viola to all ages for 29 years. Her college degrees include Doctor of Musical Arts (performance), Michigan State University (1997); Master of Music (performance), Florida State University (1989); and Bachelor of Music (performance), Boston University (1986). Dr. Garber currently resides in East Lansing, Michigan with her husband, David Klein, a freelance trumpet teacher and performer.
