Lauren Mathews

Lauren Mathews is a cellist studying under Richard Aaron at the University of Michigan. Lauren holds positions in the Detroit Opera, Ann Arbor, and Lansing Symphonies. Lauren was a finalist in the St. Paul String Quartet Competition and received 2nd prize at the Glass City Chamber Music Competition with the Mia String Quartet. She has won concerto competitions with TASO Juanita Miller, Houston Civic Symphony, Clear Lake Symphony, Houston Youth Symphony, ECHO, and Symphony North of Houston. She participated in the New York String Orchestra Seminar in 2019. Lauren attended the Aspen Music Festival from 2022-2024, and was winner of the low strings concerto competition in 2022.
