Spencer Clark, a native of the Detroit metro area, is an accomplished trumpet player currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance at Michigan State University, where he studies under Professors Justin Emerich and Heather Zweifel. He performs extensively in orchestral, chamber, and festival settings across the Midwest.

Currently serving as the 3rd trumpet in the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, he is also a substitute trumpet for the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra, Traverse City Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Brass Band of Battle Creek. At Michigan State, Spencer performs with the University Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and multiple chamber groups, often serving as principal and section trumpet. Spencer’s festival appearances include the Sewanee Festival Orchestra, Ozark Festival Orchestra, and Ozark Festival Graduate Brass Quintet, where he has been featured in principal and rotating leadership roles.

His dedication to chamber music was recognized in 2025 when the MSU Honors Quintet was named a finalist in the Barbara Wagner Chamber Music Competition. Equally active on the audition circuit, Spencer has been a finalist or semifinalist for numerous auditions, including the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, West Michigan Symphony Orchestra, Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, U.S. Naval Academy Band, U.S. Navy Band, U.S. Coast Guard Band, and U.S. West Point Band. In his free time, Spencer enjoys playing chess and cooking elaborate meals for his church.
