Verdi’s Nabucco Overture opens with bold, sweeping melodies that have the heart of an opera and the soul of a revolution. Pianist Han Chen then joins us for Jared Miller’s Shattered Night, a piece that explores chaos and hope, breaking apart and rebuilding before our ears. And then—Brahms’ Symphony No. 1, a symphony that took years to complete but was well worth the wait. Its final movement bursts with the kind of triumph that only comes after the storm.
