Jisun Lee

Violinist Jisun Lee has appeared as a soloist with the Oistrakh Symphony Orchestra, the MIC Chamber Orchestra, and in a live broadcast on 98.7 WFMT: Introductions. She was a prizewinner in the DePaul Concerto Competition, the Music Festival in Honor of Confucius, the JoongAng Ilbo Music Competition, the Music Education New Competition, and the Education for Artistic Talents Competition. She was also the recipient of the Rachel Barton Pine Violin Chair Scholarship and a Fellowship Laureate at the Music Institute of Chicago. 

Lee has participated in leading festivals including the Pacifica Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Banff Centre Chamber Music Residency, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, Heifetz Institute of Music’s Ashkenasi/Kirshbaum Quartet Seminar, the St. Lawrence String Quartet Seminar, the Toronto Summer Music Festival, and the Montreal International String Quartet Academy (MISQA), where she worked with members of the Juilliard, Tokyo, St. Lawrence, Alban Berg, Escher, American, Brentano, and Mendelssohn quartets. As a founding member of the Onia Quartet, the Graduate Quartet-in-Residence at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in 2022, the quartet studied with the Pacifica Quartet. 

She completed her Bachelor of Music at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with Simin Ganatra and her Master of Music at the Yale School of Music with Syoko Aki. She is currently pursuing the Specialist in Music (AD) degree at the University of Michigan under the guidance of David Halen.
